First Thursday Gallery Walk

October's First Thursday Gallery Walk features many of the PTXM exhibitions highlighted here, and so much more. Stroll through your neighborhood galleries for a vibrant, eclectic mix of artists and mediums.

‘Shine out the Clearer’ at Luckygirl Gourmet Gallery

Join Luckygirl Gourmet Gallery Friday, November 6th from 5 to 8 pm for a celebration of Josh Peters’ solo show, Shine Out the Clearer. They’ll have hors d’oeuvres, drinks, DJ on vinyl and the artist in attendance.

‘Shine Out the Clearer’ is on view from October 29th through November 28th. Peters’ large-scale abstract canvases set bold colors against faded ones, and their richly textured surfaces are built from layer after layer of painterly process. The work is guided by three phrases he has carried with him for years: “follow the spark,” “don’t make it good, make it yours,” and “deny the mistake.” The paintings he loves most in this show are collages of mistakes and edits, made on the belief that if he keeps going, the work will surprise him. It’s free and open to everyone. Make it part of your First Thursday night in the Pearl!

When | Friday, November 6th

Where | Luckygirl Gourmet Gallery 1604 NW 15th Ave, Portland, OR, United States, Oregon 97209

INNER PLANES

There is an invisible web holding all that surrounds us. We all have the opportunity and choice to perceive it or not. Call it universe, Spirit, love… It connects us to every person, creature, plant, mushroom, moment, breath, and cloud. The work in Zenyatta’s first solo exhibition, Inner Planes, features decades of visionary collages and sculptures created in tandem with the unseen. Most of the artwork in this exhibition has never been shown. Synchronicity and happenstance inform the work, and if you ask Zenyatta, it’s as if the pieces created themselves.
